We all know that eating healthy helps us in our day to day work. But sometimes we become so busy that we don’t have time to make breakfast so we grab a poptart and a multivitamin. We justify the poptart by telling ourselves, “I’m taking my vitamins, so really I’m getting everything that I need”.
This is a lie.
Vitamins come in different forms; Natural and synthetic. Synthetic vitamins have been treated with heat, chemicals and solvents to create just the pure vitamin (Which really should be called a drug). Now, this doesn’t sound to bad does it? Here’s the problem. When you take out the other vitamins and minerals that naturally occur, the body has to use its own reserves to make the entire vitamin. This can actually deplete the other vitamins from your body. Studies have found that there are tens of thousands of nutrients in foods other than the common vitamins and and minerals that are found in most vitamins.
In comparison, whole food vitamins are untampered with. This means that they are complete the way nature made them. If we take whole food vitamins we will not deplete our body of it resources.
What to look for in a vitamin.
On the label look for the words “whole food vitamin” or in the ingredients list look for names of foods such as “carrots, spinach, wheat grass and cherries” for example. Whole food supplements contain all the nutrients of the original food. Now, I’m not saying that taking a whole food supplement is as good as eating the food in its unprocessed form, but its the next best thing!
If you need a whole food vitamin we have one that is cold processed (so that the enzymes aren’t destroyed) that will last you 1 1/2 months to three months depending on how many capsels you take a day, all for only $23.00 a bottle.
